Polytechnic University of Milan is a public founded in 1863.

The Politecnico University is now one of Europe’s most outstanding centers for engineering, architecture and industrial design.
Recently it was ranked best university in Italy, among the first 10 technical universities in Europe and the top‐30 technical universities in the world by QS World University Rankings 2015.

The main building of Politecnico is located in Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, in the Città Studi district, which can be reached by bus, tram or metro on the green line, Piola station.
The other main (and newest) facilities are around Bovisa train station, north of the city center.
